中秋節快樂!
Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!
祝福大家身體健康,希望在如此困難和不確定的時刻每人都能繼續保持安全、樂觀、互相幫忙關注;願我們都能平穩順利渡過疫情。
Wishing everyone good health and sending strength and positivity to those who need it. I hope that we are all keeping safe and well throughout these difficult and uncertain times.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is also called the Moon Festival. The festival traditionally falls on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese lunar calendar, when there is a full moon. This marks the middle of autumn in China and it is believed that this is when the moon is at its brightest and fullest. For over 3000 years people have acknowledged this point in the year by worshipping the moon and celebrating a year of good harvest.
The usual customs of the Moon Festival include a family meal together, similar to a thanksgiving dinner. It is also traditional to eat mooncakes, spend time worshipping the moon and displaying beautiful brightly coloured lanterns.
Even though it’s not possible for us to celebrate as normal this year, we remain positive and hopeful that we’ll all get through this and have the happiest family reunion eventually!
Sending love and best wishes to everyone around the world!
